IP Host Network Monitor - knowledge base

When I start send a SNMP test trap from this agent to several IP adresses ... ?

Q: At the moment I have a APC 7500 Smart UPS in our LAN. When I start send a SNMP test trap from this agent to several IP adresses in the same range, I am not able to see the traps being recorded, one way or another by IPHost Network Monitor. I was able to add the host and even set up an monitor. But after "netstat -a -b" I did not see the port 162 being opened ... ???

A: By default IPHost uses the 162 port to listen for the incoming traps but installer may choose another one if the 162 was busy during the install time. Please find the actial port number chosen by the IPHost in the C:\ProgramData\IPHost Network Monitor\nms.ini (or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IPHost Network Monitor\nms.ini if you have Windows XP or 2003) file, the UDPTrapReceiverPort option. You may change it to 162.

What our customers are saying about IPHost Network Monitor

"Your product is a winner - and I am very particular, this no doubt is the BEST product that I have used - IPHost removes the complexity of installation and management, and the cost [of similarly functional competitive products] - thank goodness for others referring me to your company, otherwise I would have missed out on a good thing."
